ALTY in EXILE
The new logo.
Jacqui Forster a long time Altrincham supporter suggested to SAFE that they establish a section for those Alty fans who now live outside the Altrincham area. Jacqui came to the recent SAFE meeting and her suggestion was discussed and agreed to. She was asked be responsible for the section and has moved quickly on the idea and is contacting those involved. In the meanwhile this page has been set up and will be used for matters relating to our exiles. The following is material supplied by Jacqui

Alty in Exile will unveil the disable fans shelter

The Alty in Exiles flag on display for the second time at the Droylsden game 22 December .It was on show for a brief moment  at Burton but their stewards complained when it covered some advertising hoardings and it was removed. I could not see any Exiles perhaps they had exiled themselves or were in the bar!

Fanfare for the Traveling Fans

The latest edition of The Fanfare for the Traveling  Fan Volume 2 Edition 2 is now published. This is only available for members of Alty in Exile and is another good reason for joining the Exiles. However in this edition Jacqui Foster reported on a Conference of the Supporters Direct which she attended on behalf of SAFE. Unfortunately problems on the M6 prevented here from presenting her report at the last SAFE meeting. Because the article has interest to all Alty fans, Jacqui has given permission for it to be reproduce on this site.

SAFE in Exile Matchball Sponsorship 29th September, 2001

when the Robins played and beat Frickley Athletic 4-1 in the F.A. Cup 2nd Qualifying round.

Here's the second email with the team photo.

From the back left are,

Paul Steeples from London

Peter Crawford and Jill Crawford formerly from Somerset now of Nantwich, Janet Bingham (substitute for Jeff Roy of Canada), Mike Acton and Charlotte Acton from Brighton (Charlotte won the draw for the ball and can be seen clutching it tightly - she didn't let go of it even when Mark Eckersall took them back to their hotel!)

Front row; Missing is Russ Woodward of Witney was taking the photo, then Jacqui Forster from Witney, David Corris from Bath and Tony Corris from High Wycombe

Bob Green from Ely could not make it. Kevin Ellison was to substitute for David Ordman of Estonia but didn't finish training with Leicester City until too late for him to make it to the game - he will try and get to the next one that we sponsor!

Jacqui Forster, representing Alty in Exile, is presented the ball by Jason Gallagher

So there's a few new ones from last season and a few more yet to re-join.

We are sponsoring the matchball on 29th September, FA Cup against Frickley and I am collecting cheques to sponsor Bernard for the season.

Fanfare for the Travelling Fan, Volume 2, Edition 1 was dispatched on 1st September and I attended the Supporters Direct Annual Conference on 6th September in London on behalf of SAFE and Alty in Exile.

ATTENTION ALL EXILED MEMBERS OF SAFE

We are currently setting up a section specifically for you. If you live outside of the Altrincham area and need to travel from outside of Cheshire or Greater Manchester to get to games then you could join "SAFE in EXILE". Contact Jacqui Forster c/o Altrincham Football Club or e. mail jacqui.vale@unsionfree.net or ring 01993-878415 for more information.

REQUEST FOR OFFERS OF ACCOMMODATION

Did you know that SAFE has a section for Alty fans who live away from the Altrincham area? I am currently trying to set up a network of cheap accommodation for fans who travel distances to home matches at Moss Lane. Can you help? Would you accommodate a SAFE member or two overnight to assist them attending home matches when they normally have very long round trips to Altrincham and home again on the same day? If you can or know someone else who can or know of a cheap and friendly B&B or pub with cheap rooms in the Altrincham area please contact Jacqui Forster, SAFE EXILE Co-ordinator C/o Altrincham Football Club or e.mail, jacqui.vale@unisonfree.net or ring 01993-878415. Please help your fellow fans while we are "temporarily" in the Unibond as a trip from London and the south is long and tedius and the furthest south we play is Leek! When we get back to Conference football, I will try and set up a similar network for accommodation for Altrincham based fans when attending games in the south (and north!).

Showing a great deal of enterprise Jacqui talked the editors of the Bamber Bridge FC into having this advert placed in their program!
