The giant axe, Lancaster City's ground has been updated since our last visit. Here is the new terrace. |
| You still have the superb view of the church and the castle ( on a good day) | ![]() |

It had been raining , it was raining and it continued to rain. We were fortunate that the match went ahead (or were we?). Here the Lancaster goalie limbers up in front of the muddy goal mouth which is protected until the start of the game by blue plastic held in place by a piece of wood (see later) |
| Stumped. Two boys had the job of removing the wood holding the plastic, but it was held in so tightly by the mud, they broke it just below the surface. They covered up the sharp spike and seemed to be leaving it in place until some rather irate supporters suggested with no uncertain language that perhaps it was a little dangerous and it should be removed. The boys accepted the advice and fetched a more senior gentleman armed with a fork who proceeded to remove the offending article | ![]() |
