ALTY in EXILE 2002-2003
The new logo.
Jacqui Forster a long time Altrincham supporter suggested to SAFE that they establish a section for those Alty fans who now live outside the Altrincham area.  She is responsible for the section. This page is used for matters relating to our exiles. The following is material supplied by Jacqui

March  2003 Fanfare Volume 3 Edition 4 published

The latest issue of "Fanfare for the Traveling Fans" has now been sent to the Exiles. despite the fact that I thought I was fairly up to date with news of STAR and SAFE I found it interesting reading. There was a good description of the Launch of STAR with a strong recommendation that Exiles become members. Application and standing order forms and a summary of the rules were included.

It is possible that SAFE will disband at the next AGM and a voting form was provided which and asked if that was the case should the Exiles become a subsidiary of STAR. Jacqui Forster who is heavily involved with STAR said she would require help with the fanfare if the Exiles continued.

The Exiles have sponsored Tony Sullivan, who recently joined Altrincham

There were excellent articles by Jacqui and Peter Crawford several topics including one on the restructuring of the Conference

If  you live 20 miles outside the Altrincham area  it is well worth joining the Exiles, if only to get a copy of these Newsletters

January  2003 Newsletter published

Jacqui Forster has sent me my a personal copy of the latest issue of her Newsletter "Fanfare for the Traveling Fans" for review. This is edition 3 of volume 3. Circulation is restricted to members of the Alty in Exile Group. Another impressive and informative document with with photos and articles submitted by exiles. It includes the report of an in depth interview with Alty's ex- physiotherapist Anne-Marie Jones by Jacqui, and the Peter Crawford column, amongst others .  My conclusion is the same as last time if  you live outside the Altrincham area (now over 20 miles) it is well worth joining the Exiles, if only to get a copy of these Newsletters

Alty in Exile to sponsor Lancaster City Matchball - some fly in

Alty in Exile organised sponsorship of the Matchball for the Lancaster City match on 4th January. Three are Exiles flying in from Italy, Estonia and Algeria as well as a few British-based ones. Still room for any more to join at a specially knocked-down price of only £20 per head. All participants will met at 1.30 p.m. by the front door (inside as it's chilly) and then be greeted with a drink from the bar, free matchday programme, hot and cold lunch and team sheet. They take their seats in the sponsor's stand and retire inside for tea and coffee at half time. They will be in the best seats for the Supporters Trust open meeting at 5.30 p.m. on the same day.
Jacqui Forster and Jon Stack, two of the group from the Alty in Exiles which co-sponsored the match ball together in the center with guest Mark Murray who is Acting Secretary of the Altrincham Supporters Trust, which is in the processes of being formed

Alty in Exile to meet prior to trophy match

Their will be an Exiles pre-match drink at The Piper Pub on the A6 in Kettering from 1.00 p.m. onwards on 11th January, 2003 before the FA Trophy match. All Exiles welcome and even non-Exiles will be allowed to join us to swell the numbers and toast a passage into the next round!

July Newsletter published

Jacqui Forster has sent me a personal copy of the latest Newsletter for review. Circulation is restricted to members of the Alty in Exile. It is most impressive, in a "pdf" format with photos and articles submitted by exiles. Well worth the membership fee should you live outside the Altrincham area and are an Alty supporter.
